Introducing our Community Project Goals!

Hi everyone! Katie here, the supervising barista at PSc. If you’ve had the chance to visit our shop, you have probably seen me there! If you haven’t gotten a chance to come in yet, I look forward to meeting you. I have the privilege of introducing something special to you all: part of the core vision of PSc and some of our goals.

As you may have seen on our website, we are a business that wants to give back to the world around us. We are interested in being an active part of the Berlin community and the rest of Connecticut. Since we are a female owned (and currently operated) coffee shop, we really want to invest in projects and organizations that support women in our community! If you are part of a women’s organization, a nonprofit that provides services to women or any other group or gathering, please reach out to us! We would love to hear from you.

Another goal of ours is to not only give back to women in our local community, but in coffee producing countries around the world as well. We intend to donate 10% of our profits to projects that empower women in these countries, as well as locally. Be on the lookout for when we begin these projects. We’re excited to share this vision with you!

I would also like to announce another feature of our space. In the corner of our shop, there is a beautiful table, designed by local company Kellam Norton that is perfect for hosting meetings, larger groups, clubs, or other gatherings. We are calling it our “community room!” It is open for reservation during any of our hours of operation. Simply drop by and reserve the room, call our store at 860.466.9841, or email us at provisionstatecoffee@gmail.com. (The community room is also available at any time for regular seating as long as it is not already reserved. We would love if you came to check it out!)

With Covid-19, we know it is difficult to find places to work, hold meetings or even sit down with a friend for a cup of coffee. That is why we have tried so hard to keep seating open in our shop and community room. If you need a place to meet with a group, you are welcome to drop-in to use our community room or book it in advance. As Covid restrictions lessen in the coming months, we hope to get more projects rolling, but for now, I hope to see you soon and look forward to making your drink!

Katie
